March TAC Meeting

Hi all,

Our next TAC Meeting is next Monday at 7pm. Join me at the Strawberry Hill Park Administration Building on March 14th. We will go over our impressive work party list as well as updates on the transfer of the State Parks. I also want to go over the latest version of the Trails Management Plan. Yes I’m bringing it back. I submitted a session proposal for the April WRPA conference and they accepted it so I will be presenting our Trails program next month at the conference and I want to get the plan finished, we are very close.

I have attached the plan so please give it a look through and we can discuss it at the meeting. This is not the vision plan that has been being discussed, that will be coming soon. We’ll discuss the vision plan and how it will be developed as well at this meeting.

If you have any agenda items send them my way for consideration.

Thanks,
Dan Hamlin

January TAC Work Party

Hi all,

Hope your Holiday season went well. We are back at it in the New Year. We look forward to you joining the members of the Trails Advisory Committee on Saturday Jan 22 from 10am to 2pm at Gazzam Lake Preserve. We will be working on cleaning up the “mucky” spots by removing organic material and filling with gravel or soil to raise those portions of the trail where needed. Meet us at the Deerpath entry off of Baker Hill Rd. If you arrive after 10 am just walk up the main trail and you should find us. I predict we will not make it past the first trail intersection on the 22nd so we should be easy to find. There will be maps posted of the work site.

As always, dress appropriately for the work and the weather, bring you favorite tool and prepare for fun.

For questions or comments contact Dan Hamlin at 206.842.3373.

Meeting Location Change

Hi all,

The TAC meeting is still on for Monday Dec 13th, 7pm, but the location is the Strawberry Hill Center. You drive past the Administration building and take the first left then proceed past the tennis court into the parking area of the Center. The building is just South of the playground.

Thanks,

Dan

New Meeting Day

I wanted to send out a note that the TAC meetings are now going to be held on the Second Monday of each month. We voted at the last meeting to move the date in an attempt to fit the meetings into more members schedules.

So the next meeting is to be held at the Strawberry Hill Administration building, 7pm, Monday December 13th. Anyone can attend.

For questions or comments call Dan at 842-3373.

Thanks,

Dan

October TAC work party

Hi all,

I need to drop a note to let everyone know that Eric and I are attending the Washington Trails Association Conference this weekend so we will not be having a work party this Saturday.

The next TAC work party is scheduled for Oct 30th from 10am to 2pm. Please bring your favorite trail tool, gloves, snack and join us at the Grand Forest West to work on the South loop of the main trail. We are hoping for a good turnout so we can complete some much needed upgrading work on portions of that trail. The Boy Scouts were there in September and made significant progress. We will meet at the Parking area at 10am. If you arrive later just walk the trail all the way down towards where it intersects Miller Rd across from Bainbridge Gardens and you should find someone there working.

Last month we had a very low turnout and pulled out by noon, so if you think you will be there but will be coming in the afternoon just let me know and we will keep someone on site to assist and direct the work needed.

Email me at dan @ biparks.org or call my office at 206-842-3373.

Thanks,

Dan
